hmm, £5 for Nigel’s best games and £1 for Karpov’s. Shume mishtake shurely?
Thought I had dibs on the Caro Kann book? You hoping someone will come in and gazzump me?
I didn’t think that Nigel Short had done a best games book. Keene did one with that title as a hack job in the run-up to the ’93 match. If it’s actually that one then £5 is a bit optimistic.
I’m tempted to suggest that the appropriate price would be somewhere around the same as a roll of Andrex, but that would be rather crude so I won’t!
There has been several “Karpovs Best Games” purportedly by the man himself. The Edition Olms is by far the best one. I presume this is one of the earlier Batsford editions?
Finally, I guess “Open the Ruy Lopez” should actually be “The Open Ruy Lopez” (Aka 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 a6 4. Ba4 Nf6 5 0-0 Nxe4). Flear has definitely done a book on that, everyman, probably about 15 years ago.
