Our Girls’ Hour is a space to learn, play, and connect—whether you’re brand new to chess or already tournament-ready.
💬 Why We Created It
This hour was launched as part of Hammersmith’s commitment to making chess more welcoming and accessible—and it’s already a big success.
The group was shaped and energised by Ana, Veronika, and Sarah, whose enthusiasm and leadership have made this a vibrant part of the club.
🏆 From First Moves to League Champions
Girls’ Hour is about building confidence, skill, and community—from the very first moves.
In 2024, Hammersmith’s Women’s Team won the London Women’s League, led by captain Ana, one of the key founders of this group.
Our youngest girls may still be learning the ropes—but with time and support, they could be tomorrow’s champions too.
