Beginners Take Over!

A special event for the bank holiday – we’ll be running a 5-round unrated rapidplay tournament for beginners and juniors rated <1000 Elo. Stronger players - we need you too! Our beginners' section is growing rapidly, and we'd love to buddy up our learners with more experienced players for informal mentoring. The mentors' job will be to notate the games and provide feedback and tips between rounds. Volunteers to act as mentors are welcome to arrive at any point during the tournament, which will run from 6pm to 9pm. As always there is an option to play friendly chess in the main hall for anyone who prefers to.
